PerspectiviesAuthor: Colin Creel

In the preface the author tells of responding to friends who wanted him to write a book with the thoughts “What do I have to say? I am not an expert on anything.” To me this sets the tone of the book. What is contained on the pages are simply the thoughts of a man who hasn’t yet reached his thirties, so his perspective is one who is still in his twentysomethings. He’s looking back a few years and is sharing insights that he wish he’d had when he hit twenty.

There are thirty chapters so he covers a broad spectrum of topics. Each chapter contains his thoughts on the subject, then he shares thoughts on that given topic by quoting others, which he calls “Seasoned Advice.” He concludes each chapter with “Points to Ponder” which includes questions to think about. Anyone wanting to read this book should realize that it’s written by a single young man. As he said, he’s not an expert on anything. I found some of the things he said interesting, disagreed with others.
