Being a Girl Who Serves
by Shannon Kubiak Primicerio
The author of this book is still in her twenties. I was surprised when I went to her site to find out that she’s already written 4 books with more on the way. She travels around speaking to teenage girls. This book is devoted to telling those girls how to serve others. She discusses how she’s served others in her life. She’s gone to other countries on missions.
She speaks of listening to God to know what His Will is and how He can use you in your life. She lists several ways: “He whispers in a restless spirit, using the mouths of other people, circumstantial evidence and through the Word. Although she lists these different ways with each one, except the last one, she recognizes that it can be misunderstood and misinterpreted. So in reality, the only true way of knowing God’s Will is through His Word. When decisions are made about how to serve the Lord, maybe there aren’t any bad decisions. The Lord promises to work everything out for good to them who love Him.
The author uses an introduction and eleven chapters to help guide the girls. At the end of each chapter she includes questions for further thought and then includes a challenge to help the reader put what she’s learned into practice.
