I liked the author from the moment I read her “Note from the Author.” She starts the book: “I find it completely fascinating that I’ve written a book on physical and spiritual beauty.” She then goes on to describe what most authors of beauty books look like and the fact that their picture is all over the cover. “I am none of those things.” She then goes on to describe what she did look like growing up. “But I had dreams of being beautiful. And I had a desire to love God passionately.” She then goes on to write a book that weaves physical and spiritual together.

I found the book very informative. She goes into great detail about how to take care of every part of the body right down to the feet! She gives advice on the best beauty products. After discussing physical beauty and the products that will help, she goes into the spiritual side providing many applications.

She ends each chapter with “Questions for Personal Reflection or Group Study,” and then adds valuable tips. Along the way there are also boxes that contain quotes from many different fascinating people.

I’m not really into makeup and beauty products myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. I learned something new in every chapter.I highly recommend this book for all women. We have a tendency to put our own needs and well-being way down at the bottom of the list. The author shows why that’s wrong and that it IS important for us to take care of ourselves physically and spiritually.
