The Miracle
by Gilbert Morris
This is the third book in the “Singing River Series.” It continues the story of Lanie Freeman as she continues to struggle to keep her family together during the depression. Her mother had died in childbirth as the youngest daughter was born. Her father was falsely accused of murder and continues living out his sentence in the prison. The children are growing up and with that comes the added pressure of dating. A young man, Logan Satterfield, has set his eye on Maeva. An author, Brent Hayden, has come to the area for some peace and to jump start his writing career. One of the first persons he meets is Lanie, and he finds her fascinating.
Cass, a young woman who was introduced to the readers in the second book, is still living with the family and is having to come to grips with the fact that she’s expecting a little one while not married.Amelia Wright has come into town and soon has her eyes set on the doctor, Owen Merritt.
The author continues to put in many twists and turns as the story of the Freemans and those around them unfolds. It is a story that’s really touched my heart and I’ve greatly enjoyed reading each book. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll close by saying there had better be at least a book four coming out very soon!
