lenadooley Lena, describe yourself for our visitors.

I’ve been married to the love of my life for over 40 years. We like to do a lot of things together. We really enjoy watching game shows on TV, and we go to the movies or walk in the mall (in the summer when it’s hot in Texas). And spending time with our children and grand children is a priority. My music tastes are eclectic. I love jazz, big band, contemporary Christian, instrumental music–especially harp.

James and I are active in Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. I volunteer in the bookstore and on the altar prayer team. I attend a women’s life group and teach in an Apples of Gold group. James and I go to a PrimeTime family life group. We also went on the PrimeTime cruise to the Caribbean a couple years ago. Then I wrote my novel Never Say Never that takes place mostly on cruises. We’ve also been on a number of mission trips to Mexico, and I’ve gone on one to Guatemala.

How do you find time to connect with God?

I have an active life with God, too. I often talk to Him throughout the day. I try to keep my ears attuned to anything He might be saying to me. In addition, I try to have a quiet time with Him where I study His word and pray.

Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?

There are many authors whose works I love. There is such a smorgasbord of Christian fiction available to us. It would take a lot of space to list all of them. However, I do interviews with authors on my blog. Readers can come by and meet some of the authors there. Http://lenanelsondooley.blogspot.Com

Tell us about your journey to publication.

The timing was long. My second book came out ten years after my first. But since 2002, I’ve had 15 book releases. If the readers will go to my web site, the testimony of how God told me to become a Christian writer is at the bottom of the main page. On the Books page, readers will find all my books. www.lenanelsondooley.Com

montanta-mistetoe Tell us about your current book?

I was part of the writing team for Montana Mistletoe which released in September. This is the story about four friends who made a pact to be married by the time they are 28. This is the year, and none of them have a boyfriend. Read it to see how God takes a hand in each of their lives.

I also have a Heartsong Present book releasing later this month. Who Am I? This book is a contemporary romance with a large section of suspense.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

God created me with a vivid imagination. He uses that to give me story ideas. I have more ideas than I have time to write them.

carolina-carpenter List your three most recent books.

This year I had two other book releases before these–Carolina Carpenter Brides and Spinster Brides of Cactus Corner. My last book in 2006 was A Daughter’s Quest which was a finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writers Book of the Year contest.

Whatʼs next for you?

My agent is marketing a women’s fiction title right now. I’m working on another proposal for her to market. And there will be several other proposals to follow that. I’ve also sold a Christmas book that will come out next September–Snowbound Colorado Brides.
