Daria Simpson has noticed the fine man living across the hall from her in her apartment complex, but aside from a casual greeting, they haven’t exchanged two words. All that changes though, when Michael Greer forces his way into Daria’s apartment to avoid an ex-girlfriend. At first Daria is scared, but when she finds out that Michael is hiding from a girl she gets angry.

Michael is attracted to Daria, but she’s a church girl and not his style. But then he finds Christ, and starts attending her church. Suddenly he discovers that Daria and his sister are close friends and they start spending time together through their families.

Hilarious encounters, eccentric aunties and a persistent ex-girlfriend keep the action going, but will their attraction grow into a lasting love?

Expectations is the first book I’ve read from Ms. Lee and it’s a winner. Easily one of the best books I’ve read so far this year. The story is sweet, fun, and well-written, holding my interest through the end. Ms. Lee is definitely an author we’ll be seeing more of in the future.

Daria and Michael are both fun characters and the secondary characters are also well developed. I hoped they’d be able to get together. I loved some of the elderly aunties in the story. Eccentric always adds a touch of fun. Make sure you pick up your copy of Expectations today. $17.99. 243 pages.
