Eli Logan doesn’t want another female partner. His last one froze at an inopportune time, and Eli was shot, ending up in surgery and rehab. Now he’s assigned a new partner. Eli is shocked and upset to discover that his new partner is not a man like he requested, but another female cop, Delanie Cooper, and even worse, he’s been taken off his Special Forces unit and put on plain clothes.
Delanie Cooper is the Chief of Police’s daughter, but a good cop in her own right. She is rather upset when she learns that she is expected to be the one to get Eli over his distrust of women and she fears she might let him down.
When Eli and Delanie are sent to take down a baby-selling ring, Delanie goes undercover as an unmarried, pregnant teen. Eli pretends to be the father. Unwed mothers are being found dead, the babies cut out of them. Will Eli and Delanie be able to stop this ring, and put the leaders in prison, or will Eli and Delanie be stopped first?
ALWAYS YESTERDAY is a real cute sweet romance. One of the better ones I’ve read recently, it held my interest from page one until I reached the end. I enjoyed watching Delanie and Eli change and grow as the book progressed.
Delanie and Eli are both realistic, and both want to make a difference in their world. Eli made a decision to live in the inner city and try to reach the kids he lives around by being their buddy. Delanie volunteers at an organized center. The faith message is expertly woven in. Don’t miss ALWAYS YESTERDAY. $4.95. 170 pages.
