forparents For Parent’s Only
by Shaunti Feldman and Lisa A. Rice

Raising children is such a daunting task. But when they become teenagers it’s a whole different ball game! What happened to all those sweet young faces? What happened to all the hugs and the sound of “I love you, Mom” ringing in your ears? Now the only ringing you’re hearing is their cell phone going off and the door slamming to their room.

How did it come to this? How can a parent understand what’s going on in their teenager’s mind? How can a parent continue to parent during this time? The authors of this book have some great ideas. They went to teenagers themselves and found out what their behavior actually means. They go through many different circumstances and situations and find out the reactions of parents that helped the teens and those that made the teens want to turn their backs on their parents.

The best time to read this book is BEFORE your children reach this age. But anyone who has any dealing with teenagers, whether they’re your own or not would benefit greatly from reading this book.
