How to get Your Husband to Listen to You
By Nancy Cobb and Connie Grigsby
Something happened after the authors started writing the book that made the reading of it even more applicable. Not only did Nancy find out that her husband had cancer she ended up losing him the week the book was finished. Wives are never promised that they’ll have years and years to work things out, to make things right with their husbands. I highly recommend this book for everyone who is a wife or will ever become a wife. After reading it, know that you need to start putting into practice the suggestions in the book as soon as you read them. You might not have much time.
The book is divided into four sections: "Why is this so hard?," "How you shoot yourself in the foot," "Opening his heart opens his ears," and "Aha moments." What the women concentrate on is what the wives need to do to change, and leave how the husbands react, to the Lord. And that’s as it should be. The Lord has called wives to be help meets. This is not dependent on how the husband reacts. If he responds in kind, that’s fine. Your are still to do what the Lord would have you do as a spouse.
So, read this book with an open mind and heart knowing that the Lord will bless your efforts to do what He would have you to do.Then say a prayer for Nancy as she continues on alone.
