image Sandra, describe yourself for our visitors.

I’ve been happily married for nearly 22 years to the country boy who took my dare to eat Escargot when we were dating – and we have two teenagers. I like to read, to work out, to host and be invited to fun events with friends, and to create in my garden. And cook!

How do you find time to connect with God?

I wish I found more. As the saying goes, no one ever finds time; they have to take it from someplace else.   I have great Christian friends – and a husband – who keep me accountable. I long for and am lonely for God when I haven’t spent enough time with him. I’m aware that I can’t, in good conscience, ask my kids if they’re reading their Bibles if I’m not. I belong to a fantastic church.

Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?

Uh oh. That’s kind of like who is my favorite child! ‘Specially since so many of my friends are authors! On my nightstand right now:  Fieldwork by Berlinsky, Same Kind of Different as Me, The Shape of Mercy by Susan Meissner, Comfort Foods, and a biography of Anne Boleyn by Eric Ives.

Tell us about your journey to publication.

When I was a kid I wanted three careers: to be a hair stylist, to be a waitress, and to be an author. After I mohawked my Barbie I knew I wasn’t cut out for the hairstylist career. I actually was a waitress in a Jewish deli when I was a teenager, and I worked for a caterer. Writing, however, was the real passion. And it stuck! I’ve always wanted to be a writer and God makes it all happen though it took (and still takes) blood, sweat and tears. Remember: "For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

image Tell us about your current book? How did you come up with ideas for this book?

My new release, Bon Appétit, is Book Two in the French Twist series. I love France , I love French people, I love cooking and baking, and I love to write and read. How cool that God allowed me to spend three years doing all three of those things at once, and inviting fantastic readers along for the ride! I’ve heard from many readers who have taken professional and personal leaps of faith after reading the series.  Please be prepared to cook, bake, shop and eat when you read this series. Find the best French bakery in town and stock up. I am a new gym member, working off three years of brioche (which is so, so good…).

Bon Appétit, Let Them Eat Cake, and Daisy Chains

What’s next for you?

I’ve just finished the third book in the French Twist series, tentatively called Piece de Resistance. Next up is a tweener series called, London Confidential, which is going to be terrific fun. And after that, more books for adult women – the next one series will be a surprise, and something I’ve been dying to write for a decade.  Please sign up for my newsletter, on the website, so you’ll know when they release!
