1-Margaret Daley photo-jpg Margaret, describe yourself for our visitors.

I have been a wife for thirty-eight years. I am a mother of one son and a grandmother of three little girls (soon to be another one). I love to read and go to lunch with my friends (sometimes going to a movie, too).

I am a member of our outreach committee at church because I think it is important for a church community to extend a helping hand to the community, country and world they are in.

My favorite kind of books to read is one with suspense/adventure and some romance in it, if possible. I do like to read a lot of different kinds of books besides suspense, however. My favorite music is classical rock although I like other kinds, too. I especially love Christmas music and listen to it from time to time during the whole year.

How do you find time to connect with God?

Every morning the first thing I do is have a quiet time with God. I will read some of the Bible, write in my daily journal and often read a chapter or small section of a devotional book. It’s my time that is special to me. That doesn’t mean, however, I don’t talk to Him throughout my day. I do—like carrying on a conversation. He’s a great friend.

Who are your favorite authors? Favorite books?

James Rollins is one of my favorite authors. I especially like his earlier books like Amazonia. As I said above, I love a good suspense/mystery with adventure and romance thrown in. That’s a James Rollins’ book.

Tell us about your journey to publication.

I have been selling in the romance genre since 1981 when I sold to Silhouette Romance. However, there was an eight-year dry spell in the late 80s and early 90s where I didn’t sell a book. But I kept trying. In 2000 Love Inspired bought my first inspirational romance and that started my journey in the Christian fiction market. The Lord had been pushing me in that direction for a while and finally He just gave me a shove—a story that could only be told with Him in it.

Poisoned Secrets, a Love Inspired Suspense:

Maggie Ridgeway has spent years searching for her birth mother. And now, thanks to an anonymous tip, she’s finally found her. Taking the apartment across the hall from her mother’s family, Maggie is determined not to leave until she gets some questions answered. Who is her father? Why did her parents abandon her? And what item in her new apartment is provoking multiple burglaries? After an interrupted break-in leaves Maggie unconscious, the building’s owner, Kane McDowell, promises to protect her. But then he learns who she really is. When the past is unveiled, the shocking disclosures could tear Maggie and Kane apart.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?

My niece came looking for her biological father and found my brother. From there the story blossomed. Now thankfully she is in our lives.
